Quality Policy and Basic Values

In line with MEDEK’s mission, vision, and core values, its Quality Policy is defined as follows: “To continuously improve the services provided in accordance with stakeholder expectations by contributing to the continuous development of vocational colleges and educational programs in Türkiye and the strengthening of the quality assurance system, and to ensure service quality through the establishment of a shared quality culture and quality assurance system.” The Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK), which aims to enhance the quality of education in vocational college programs and contribute to the development of internal and external quality assurance systems for vocational college education and training programs by conducting accreditation, evaluation, training, and outreach activities for vocational colleges and educational programs within the higher education system, has adopted as a fundamental principle the continuous improvement of its activities in line with the philosophy of total quality and meeting the expectations of higher education institutions offering associate’s degree programs. In accordance with its mission and vision, MEDEK has embraced the following core values to maintain the highest possible quality of the services it provides:

  • Stakeholder Focused: MEDEK employees and volunteers establish and maintain respectful and service-oriented relationships with all stakeholders. They are attentive to their current needs and expectations. They are aware that the ultimate judges of the quality of their services are the organizations which receive them.
  • Continuous Learning: Continuous learning is a prerequisite for continuous improvement. Thus, MEDEK continuously learns both from its own activities and performance and from the experiences of similar organizations. The development of its employees and volunteers is supported and encouraged in a way that creates an environment where they can recognize and utilize their full potential.
  • Added Value: MEDEK provides services that deliver added value to its stakeholders, particularly the institutions it serves. It aims to ensure that all work performed and all activities implemented create shared value for its stakeholders. The added value of the service is tracked through direct feedback. In particular, MEDEK’s evaluation teams strive to provide constructive feedback to support the continuous improvement of associate degree education and the overall evaluation process.
  • Building Sustainable Partnerships: Maximizing the value provided and increasing success depend on building partnerships. For this reason, MEDEK seeks out and develops opportunities for collaboration with national and international organizations. For sustainable collaboration, it is essential that partners share common goals, exchange expertise, resources, and information, and establish a relationship based on mutual trust, respect, and transparency.
  • Ethical Behavior: As responsible individuals toward all MEDEK stakeholders, MEDEK employees and volunteers have adopted a high standard of ethical conduct, characterized by transparency and a commitment to accountability. Therefore, MEDEK employees and volunteers act professionally, avoiding conflicts of interest in accordance with the MEDEK Code of Ethics.
  • Objectivity and Dependability: MEDEK’s governing bodies and employees are aware of the importance of impartiality, and it is the primary responsibility of all employees to conduct accreditation activities in accordance with the principle of impartiality and applicable legal regulations.
